Five holiday parks that FreeSpirit are contracted to manage have been awarded in the top ten Family-Friendly Holiday Parks in Australia for 2009, as voted by Holidays with Kids Magazine - an Australian family travel magazine.

Blue Dolphin Holiday Resort was awarded first place, followed by Treasure Island Holiday Park in 2nd, Ocean Beach Holiday Park in 5th and Darlington Beach Holiday Park in 7th place.

The annual award is decided by the readers of the magazine after they vote for their favourite holiday park. Readers were invited to rank their nominations on categories including activities and facilities for kids, staff hospitality, accommodation standard, location, accessibility, safety, fun for the entire family, value for money and overall experience.

Nominations came from the magazine’s vast readership, who nominated our parks for outstanding holiday appeal and facilities and activities for families.

Darlington Beach Holiday Park (managed by FreeSpirit Holiday Parks) was proud to accept the award as winner of NSW's Best Resort/Holiday 4.5 - 5 stars (more than 100 sites) at the recent Caravan and Camping Industry Association (CCIA) of NSW's annual Awards of Excellence. This was in addition to winning the overall Best of the Best NSW Holiday/Resort Park in NSW.

Congratulations also go to Darlington Beach's Trainee, Marie Wilson, who was awarded Trainee of the Year at the Awards night.

There new parks include: Darlington Beach Holiday Park - Arrawarra (Coffs Harbour) NSW, Ocean Beach Holiday Park - Umina Beach NSW, Sydney Gateway Holiday Park - Parklea (Sydney) NSW & Merimbula Beach Holiday Park - Merimbula NSW. NRMA Motoring and Services has contracted the services of FreeSpirit to manage and operate all their holiday parks on their behalf.

Treasure Island Holiday Park was purchased by NRMA Tourist Parks Pty Ltd on the 4th July 2006. NRMA has contracted FreeSpirit Management Pty Ltd to run the holiday park.
