Darlington Beach Holiday Park celebrated the opening of "Ponds Cafe" by hosting an exclusive cocktail party on Wednesday 30 June 2010.

Ponds Cafe is now open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers meals to suit everyone of all palates and budgets, combined with a relaxing, family-friendly atmosphere. We hope to see you soon!

Ocean Beach Holiday Park has just completed renovating their Gumnut Spa Villas, Gumnut Villas, Sunset Villas and Playground Cabins and they look great!

They have all been painted, been given new furniture, new linen, new outdoor furniture, flatscreen TV's, new bathroom fittings, new crockery and new ovens.

AUSTRALIA'S favourite family holiday destination, the Gold Coast, has received a boost with Treasure Island Holiday Park receiving a “Judges Commendation” at the recent state tourism awards.

Treasure Island Holiday Park (managed by FreeSpirit Holiday Parks) is celebrating after being awarded with a judges commendation for the ‘Best Tourist and Caravan Park’ at the annual Queensland Tourism Awards on the Gold Coast on Friday, 13th November.

The awards honour the regions industry leaders through the acknowledgement of innovative business processes, business excellence and overall business success. The most comprehensive of its kind, the awards are open to any tourism company or organisation operating in Queensland.

The annual award is judged by a panel of independent business experts and coordinated by the Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC) and audited by Ernst & Young.

Fraser Lodge Holiday Park (managed by FreeSpirit Holiday Parks), located in Hervey Bay was again recognised for their excellence in service during the 2009 Fraser Coast & South Burnett Tourism Awards held on Saturday 24th October. Winning for the third year in a row, ‘Best Caravan & Tourist Park”, Fraser Lodge will now be automatically inducted into the ‘Hall of Fame’ in 2010.

This outstanding recognition for the park marks the culmination of a highly successful year after picking up on the same night the “Access Tourism” award for the second year in a row. This has once again recognised the high standard of services and facilities that Fraser Lodge continues to deliver.

The annual awards are designed to recognise the outstanding contribution made by those businesses and individuals whose tourism services set a high standard throughout the Fraser Coast/ South Burnett region.

Five holiday parks that FreeSpirit are contracted to manage have been awarded in the top ten Family-Friendly Holiday Parks in Australia for 2009, as voted by Holidays with Kids Magazine - an Australian family travel magazine.

Blue Dolphin Holiday Resort was awarded first place, followed by Treasure Island Holiday Park in 2nd, Ocean Beach Holiday Park in 5th and Darlington Beach Holiday Park in 7th place.

The annual award is decided by the readers of the magazine after they vote for their favourite holiday park. Readers were invited to rank their nominations on categories including activities and facilities for kids, staff hospitality, accommodation standard, location, accessibility, safety, fun for the entire family, value for money and overall experience.

Nominations came from the magazine’s vast readership, who nominated our parks for outstanding holiday appeal and facilities and activities for families.
